Labasa’s Last Source For Hot Cross Buns

The Hot Bread Corner is the only shop in Labasa Town supplying hot cross buns for Easter.
This product is something that many people look forward to, especially during the Easter weekend.
However, the trend has now changed.
The Hot Bread Corner managing director Satish Kumar said because of the negative impacts of COVID-19 pandemic and Tropical Cyclone Harold, the demand for hot cross buns has changed.
“We used to get orders from schools and businesses because they used to have Easter celebrations in their different settings,” Mr Kumar said.
“It didn’t happen this year. Business is greatly affected, but for us this doesn’t mean we stop serving the community.
“Hence, we continued with the baking and selling of hot cross buns,” he said.
“Easter comes once in a year and I want to wish everyone well, hoping to see better days in future.
“Our shop is open early morning till late evening and anyone can buy.”
One dozen buns are being sold for $3:30.
