Families Send Over Clothes And Food For Loved Ones Affected By Cyclone Harold

The families of those who were affected by Tropical Cyclone Harold in the Lau Group have prepared food and clothes to be sent to their loved ones.
Suva resident, Makereta Lesikiburotukula, who is the daughter of Temesia Lesi, a villager of Makadru in Matuku, Lau, said the families immediately got together on Friday evening with clothes and food to be sent to the island.
She said the items would be distributed to all the families in the village of Makadru and to the neighbouring villagers who were badly affected.
“We will separate the items and see how much will fit the people from my village and the rest of the items we will share it to the other villages,” she said.
“We received donations also from people overseas and others and we are very grateful to them for their kind hearts. This is a time to share and care especially this Easter weekend.”
Ms Lesikiburotukula said the items would be sent to the island on Tuesday.
