Improvise and adapt is the keywords that Fijian players around the country should use says Fiji 7s men’s team forward Suliano Volivoli.

He made the comment while on patrol in Suva during this lockdown period last night.

The Police officer changed uniform after he returned from his debut in the Los Angeles 7s last month from the international rugby arena to the streets of Suva controlling the public during this crisis.

Volivoli isn’t only a representative at the HSBC World Sevens Series but also a frontline in the fight against Covid19 in the country.

“It’s a tough time and the least we can do is to improvise and adapt to the situation who knows we might be like this for a while so athletes and rugby players should use time wisely in training and maintaining their fitness,” said Volivoli.

“For me during this difficult time, I’ve been doing my own training and pushing myself to the limit so I can do well in the next series if it happens but my goal at the moment is to serve the public and I will always be ready to represent my country, village and family when needed,” he said.

“We have been given our training programs so I have been juggling work and getting my fitness up to bar.”

The Vunibau lad from Serua said it’s his responsibility and his childhood dream to represent the nation.

“Rugby has always been my dream and representing Fiji has always been my goal but it’s God’s calling for me to serve my people as a police officer especially during this crisis,” said Volivoli.

“Serving Fijians is paramount right now since we had to crisis hiting us, and i know that many of our fans were badly affected.”

“ Everyday when i’am training one of the key areas that i am focusing on is how to bring back smiles to those who are affected by the virus and the TC Harold.”

“ My aim now and i understand the teams aim is to get out there in the next tournament and win for these fans.”
