15 Arrested While Playing Touch Rugby Front Court
Fifteen people appeared at the Nadi Magistrates Court yesterday each charged with one count of failure to comply with orders.
Kalisito Kalougata, Apisa Seru, Orisi Banuve, Samuela Vakarorogo, Apenisa Mateo, Samuela Savakarorogonakalou, Ratu Orisi Vasukiwai, George Driver Tikoiserene, Josefa Draunidalo, Paulo Manauwa, Joeli Ratusala, Elia Maiwaikatakata, Stuard Tawake Tuidela, Beniata Nakove and Tevita Cuvatoka appeared before Magistrate Nirosha Kannangara.
It is alleged that on April 16, the accused were playing touch rugby at the Wailoaloa Beach in Nadi.
Magistrate Kannangara told the accused that it is important to consider the law issued by the Government in trying to eliminate the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in our country.
The accused were granted $1000 bail bond.
The matter was adjourned to June 9.
