The Board of Investment Fiji announced the appointment of Craig William Strong as Investment Fiji’s new chief executive officer effective from May 4, 2020.

Investment Fiji’s chair Jenny Seeto said: “He has extensive experience in the commercial, government and not for profit sectors, and the board is confident that with Mr Strong’s excellent track record in leadership roles and marketing, he will take Investment Fiji to the next level of the country’s economic development.”

Ms Seeto said building on his role as Permanent Secretary Fisheries and acting Permanent Secretary for Lands and Mineral Resources, Mr Strong will continue to deliver the Government’s five and 20-year National Development Plan.

She said Mr Strong joined at a crucial time during the uncertainties caused by COVID-19.

Mr Strong said: “I am extremely excited at applying my commercial leadership skills to grow sustainable investment in Fiji.”

He said the opportunity existed for a strategic reset and to apply a more prescriptive segment-based approach to developing new industries and growing the yield of current investors.
