A foreign national alleged to have murdered his two roommates in Ba over the weekend appeared at the Ba Magistrates court yesterday.

Mohammed Masum appeared before Magistrate Samuela Qica charged with two counts of murder.

Masum is alleged to have murdered his roommate whose body was found near a sugarcane field in Rarawai, Ba, over the weekend and the second roommate’s body which Police found on Sunday.

Investigators managed to recover the second victim’s body which was buried about 100 metres away from their flat in Rarawai Lane, Ba.

Magistrate Qica denied bail for Masum and further remanded him in custody.

The matter has been adjourned to May 1 for mention.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the post-mortem results will not be released for public consumption.
