The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC) thanked Fiji Water for their donation of $10,000 and Extra Supermarket for their donation of 100 food packs as part of assistance towards the Veilomani Food Bank

The Veilomani food bank initiative has been established to assist Fijian families whose family members, relatives or workmates tested positive for COVID-19, and are currently unable to work and put food on the table due to being quarantined.

“Gestures like these make a great difference to the lives of our brothers and sisters who are being impacted by Covid-19 and it is very inspiring to see organisations stepping up and embodying the spirit of ‘veilomani’,” said FCCC CEO, Joel Abraham.

Abraham said that, more than ever, this is the time to stand together in solidarity and support fellow Fijians who are suffering, and he looks forward to others lending their support in a similar manner.

FCCC teams have placed food bins in the Central/Eastern, Western and Northern division and are working closely with the Fijian Ministry of Health to identify families where food packs will be supplied to them by this Friday or Saturday.
