Final Goodbyes To Our Former Prime Minister
For the last time, Leba Qarase travelled back to Mavana village, Vanuabalavu, accompanying the body of her late husband, Laisenia Qarase.
Before departing Nausori Airport, hundreds lined the Suva-Nausori corridor to pay their final respects to the former Prime Minister and Tui Kobuca.
The funeral entourage arrived to an overcast Vanuabalavu Airport. Heavy rain did not deter hundreds of people from attending the funeral service. He was entombed at Mavana.
The late Mr Qarase was described by many at the funeral as a humble, kind, wise and loving man.
