Corrections Officer, Two Others In Court On Public Drinking Charge

Three accused persons have been granted bail by the Magistrates Court in Suva on serious charges of drinking in a public area.

Dominiko Orisi, Apisai Donu and Tikonatabua appeared before Magistrate Joseph Daurewa in a special court sitting in Suva yesterday. Donu is a Fiji Corrections Service officer.

Magistrate Daurewa agreed to their bail applications, however he told Donu that his surety was to see that he adhered to the bail conditions set by the court. Donu’s mother was his surety.

Dona was ordered to bring a male surety when their case is called again. All three accused were charged with one count of drinking liquor in a public arrear.

The matter has been adjourned to May 18, for mention.
