Career Change For MP
A certain economist, who had left academia for a political role in one of the older parties in the country is reportedly heading back into academia.
Word from reliable sources is that the economist had approached the regional university for a role in academia.
It is believed that the academic turned politician may be out of funds with most of his mullah tied up in assets.
Is he calling it quits after no major impacts in his parliamentary career?
Rubbish citizens
And the citizens of the year (not) are some Nasinu residents who despite being given a new timetable for rubbish collection are still breaking the law.
This is the same municipality where ratepayers are the most reluctant to pay their dues and at the same time expecting a world-class service.
Money matters have affected service for the municipality but this has been made worse by residents. Some of them guilty of piling rubbish along roadsides and some even dumping theirs in front of the neighbour’s yard.
Sand, gravel thieves
Thievery of the highest order happens when it happens publicly especially when people are stealing sand and gravel from areas which do not require this to happen.
In Tamavua, residents along Princes Road have witnessed people filling large amounts of gravel, which have been left there for road works.
People zoom up in their vehicles grab a sack or two and leave. Similarly, noticed at the Suva foreshore, people filling sand.
Lomary Primary School
Kudos to the Lomary Primary School teachers who went an extra mile.
The teachers in Serua deserve praise and recognition for working an extra mile.
While some schools prepare their worksheets to be presented before May 4 for parents and guardians to collect, teachers from this school hand delivered worksheets to their students’ homes early last week. They are indeed teachers who are noble professionals and passionate about their roles, and especially concerned about keeping their students involved.
Their efforts and that of their school head warrant our applause. Vinaka teachers.
Phone For A Goat
Heard of that Barter system page on Facebook? Well someone traded her J2 Prime phone for a goat.
Takes the cake that exchange!
