Merrill Bear Pte Limited will launch its new line of canned food in the coming weeks.

It follows the success of the recent launch of the company’s range of sanitisers.

While details of the launch are yet to be decided, managing director Div Damodar said the idea was something his company had worked on before coronavirus (COVID-19).

“We had planned to launch the new food line before COVID-19, but we had to re-strategise.”

Based in Nadi, Merrill Bear Pte Limited manufactures sanitising products – a need spurred by the growing demand that arose from the coronavirus pandemic, Mr Damodar said.

The company is his own and is one he ventured into after identifying the importance of supporting the local manufacturing sector, particularly during the global pandemic.

Sanitisers are available in liquid form and as antibacterial wipes.

“It’s 70 per cent alcohol, manufactured locally, so quantity and delivery isn’t affected.”
