Director of Public Prosecutions Decides No Charges Will Be Laid Against MP, Pio Tikoduadua

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr Christopher Pryde, (DPP) has decided that no charges will be laid against opposition Member of Parliament, Pio Tikoduadua, in relation to a complaint of a breach of the Public Order Act on 20th April 2020.
The police file was sent to the DPP for an assessment of the evidence and a decision on whether any charges should be laid following a complaint.
The DPP stated that “following a review of the police docket and the evidence, it is our opinion that there is insufficient evidence to support criminal charges against the Honourable Pio Tikoduadua and, therefore, the docket has been returned to police with the instruction not to charge and no further action is required.”
