Fiji National University will waive fees for those students who are unable to complete their units online during the COVID-19 crisis.

This was confirmed by Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor James Pounder.

This means that students who are facing difficulties with online learning, can resume classes once the face-to-face learning is allowed without paying the cost.

Professor Pounder said: “There will be provisions for additional learning sessions once face-to -face lectures commence and we encourage students to utilise this time to catch up on their studies.

“However, we are encouraging students to be in constant communication with their Course Co-ordinators and peers so they are aware of what’s happening in regards to their respective units as well as share notes, work on assignments etc,” he said.

Professor Pounder said students were managing well under the recent circumstances.

“Students are using Moodle to access their learning materials and with free access to Moodle and FNU website using Vodafone and Digicel devices, students are able to keep updated with what’s happening in their courses,” he said.
