A mother is praying for the fast recovery of her son, Parvishneel Raj, a Police officer who has been confirmed positive for COVID-19 in India.

Bimal Wati of Boca, Bulileka, said her son flew out to New Delhi on February 13 with his wife and daughter, who was to undergo medical treatment.

“My daughter-in-law and granddaughter are both safe but I am worried about my son,” she said.

Ms Wati said her son was admitted at the Max Hospital in New Delhi and in stable condition.

She had seen her son on video call earlier yesterday morning.

Ms Wati said she still could not believe that her son had tested positive.

“My son had paid their returning fare earlier in March, but was not able to return due to the lockdown in India, and for the second time everything changed,” she said.

Ms Wati said her son visited a few places around New Delhi before the lockdown, but after the lockdown he stayed inside the hotel.

“I am thankful that the Fijian Government and the Fiji Police Force are paying the medical bills for my son,” she said.

Her daughter-in-law, Salon Lata is a school teacher at Tabia Sanatan College and her granddaughter is two years and seven months old.
