A man from Nadi is offering his Information Technology (IT) skills for barter and free help to former Fiji Airways staff members who were recently terminated.

Greg Levestam, a father of three, is the Information Technology manager at the Musket Cove Island Resort and Marina on Malolo Lailai. He was so moved by the Barter for Better Fiji Facebook page that he put up his skills for barter.

His wife, Adi Salasaini Kavu Cakobau Levestam, was a senior flight attendant with the national airline for 30 years. She was one of the 700 plus airline employees who lost their jobs last week.

“I have a beautiful family here in Fiji and abroad. All have been super helpful. Just my love to help people. I did it all the time while working for the resort in the Mamanucas,” Mr Levestam said.

“It was in the evenings after work. And just to look at their faces with smiles was huge. I used to help our staff and the villagers of Solevu and Cubi.

“If anyone asked for my help, I wouldn’t say no. I will also give Fiji Airways staff free consultation and software repair to those who have been released due to COVID-19.”

Mr Levestam was born in Suva, spent most of his childhood in Lami and Levuka.

He attended Marist Brothers High School until he left for Australia to pursue his dream in IT.
