9 Member Task Force Set Up To Look At Suspended SODELPA Party Affairs

A nine-member task force team has been set up by the Social Democratic Liberal Party (in suspension) vice president Vijay Singh to look into the party affairs amid its 60 days suspension.
Speaking from Sydney, Mr Singh said the party (in suspension) was working hard to rectify the breaches outlined by the Registrar of Political Parties Mohammed Saneem on May 25.
Mr Saneem had suspended SODELPA for 60 days for failure to comply with its own constitution and the Political Parties Act.
This was after the party organised two separate meetings last month which was a breach of their constitution.
Mr Saneem had rejected both applications filed by Emele Duituturaga and Adi Litia Qionibaravi from the two factions of the suspended party.
On Monday, Mr Saneem said the suspended party was working on rectifying the breaches.
As the Political Party Registrar, he facilitated here possible in accordance with the law.
Most of the work is being carried out by party officials.
Mr Singh said the task force had been working hard visiting the various constituencies to remedy the breaches before the 60 days is over.
“Once we have sorted all that needs to be sorted, we will be able to come back on track.”
Over the weekend, suspended party MP Ro Teimumu Kepa posted on her social media channels after meeting with the Tui Cakau, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu and Ratu Epenisa Cakobau of the Kubuna confederacy.
She also held meetings with members of the Rewa constituency at Burebasaga village in Rewa.
Other SODELPA (in suspension) MPs are doing the same at their various constituencies.
