They were stopped at the Lesuma checkpoint whereby it was discovered that they did not have any valid reason to be moving around during curfew hours and were also both intoxicated having returned from a birthday party.

Drunk Doctor And Driver Arrested For Breaching COVID-19 Restrictions

A Doctor was among the five people arrested last night for breaching the nationwide curfew.

The 26year old based in Taveuni was arrested with a 29year old driver based with the Ministry of Health for allegedly breaching the nationwide curfew hours by Police officers from the Taveuni Police Station.

They were stopped at the Lesuma checkpoint whereby it was discovered that they did not have any valid reason to be moving around during curfew hours and were also both intoxicated having returned from a birthday party.

Two reports were recorded in the Northern Division, two in the Western Division and one case was reported in the Southern Division.
