Brisbane-based Mustafa Mohammed aims to either play for Australia or the Vodafone Fiji football age group side in future

Mohammed was born in Kogarah, New South Wales to Fijian dad Ifraz Mohammed who was originally from Mulomulo, Nadi.

He currently plays for the Brisbane Roar Academy Under-15 side in Queensland.

“I want to represent the Brisbane Roar senior team, K-League in South Korea but top on my list is Australia or my dad’s country of birth, Fiji.

“I want to be like or better than dad,”the Year 10 Brisbane State High student said.

His dad played for the Fijian U17 team before he migrated to Australia in 1998.

He trains under former AC Milan player Francesco Zanoncelli and with Football Connection Brisbane Academy coached by Jae Son, Mng Jay Lee and Sam Kim.

His favourite subjects include mathematics and physical education.

He represented Queensland in the state, district and regional teams.

In 2017 he competed at the Pacific Cup held in Adelaide. He captained the U14 Metro team at the 2018 FFA Youth Championship competing against all State and A-league Academy teams at the Cex International Stadium, Coffs Habour.

In 2019, he was privileged to captain the U15 Metro team at the FFA Youth Champs.

This year Mohammed had a surprising opportunity to trial in-front of Trevor Morgan, the head coach of the U17 Australian Joeys team.

His mother Zaynah and father Ifraz supports are his biggest fans.

“I had high hopes to represent Fiji at any stage but I am supporting my son to make my dream come true,” he said.
