The Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts donated 30 computers to Tailevu North College, thanks to Fiji Aid Melbourne.

Donated on Thursday, the ministry received 150 computers from Fiji Aid Melbourne on Monday.

“The computer lab was believed to be destroyed by TC Harold, which is why the ministry wants to serve schools that were affected,” Minister for Education, Rosy Akbar said.

The Ministry also handed over a set each of 20 desks and 20 chairs, that were donated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to Tailevu North College and Namalata District School.

Ms Akbar said this handing over was the beginning of a relationship, which would be strengthened further to benefit rural children.

“I will ensure that these computers will benefit those schools severely affected by TC Harold and fulfill the e-Learning needs of our rural children. In fact I will hand deliver these to the schools myself,” she said.

“The Ministry is thankful to the LDS Church for their concern towards needy children.”
