Selling at the VotCity/JetSet Flea Market is a first step of faith for former flight attendant, Sanjeet Kumar, to move on with life.

The 42-year-old operates a stall at the Flea Market at Votualevu in order to support his family.

He has been an employee of Fiji Airways for 14 years. He is the sole breadwinner for his family.

Mr Kumar said his family was saddened by his work being terminated, but he instilled in them hope that there were other better options for them.

“I encouraged them that we need to take a first step of faith and God will take the rest.”

He said the opportunity given to them to sell at the Flea market was important, because for most of them it was for their survival.

He has been selling at the Flea market for the past six days.

“This is my second week of selling here at the flea market. From here we will decide what other options we need to take.”

Mr Kumar sells roti, chicken palau, fresh fish curry with rice, and a variety of Indian sweets.

He acknowledged the church for allowing them to sell on their land and the Nadi Town Council for setting up the flea market.
