Gul Meats Opens $80,000 Butcher Shop In Nadi Town

There is great need to support and encourage local investors to add financial stimulus into the country, says Nadi Town Council chief executive officer, Craig Powell.
Mr Powell yesterday opened the $80,000 M Gul Halal Meats butcher shop in Nadi Town, the second branch since the business was established in Valelevu in 2010.
“It is a very special occasion at a time when some businesses are closing and there are new opportunities of others opening,” Mr Powell said.
“What is critical for Fiji going forward is we support and encourage our local investors. This would add life and business to Nadi town.”
Business director Mohammed Imtiaz Gul said the second branch was a long-term plan.
“It is more than just halal meats,” he said.
Mr Gul is originally from Keiyasi, Navosa, and returning to set up a business in the Western Division is critical for their family business.
“During this COVID-19, I said never mind I just want to open up a business. I found a good spot and I will open a butcher shop. Here it is near the market and convenient for the customers. I want to create jobs for five to six people,” Mr Gul said.
Mr Gul said there were plans for another branch in Sigatoka Town.
