Timely Boost For Fire Authority

The National Fire Authority (NFA) received more than $9000 worth of brand new conference equipment and a 6.5 KVA diesel generator.
NFA chief executive officer Puamau Sowane thanked Nadi-based Al-Hamd Smart Living for the equipment worth $7000 and Lautoka Auto Mechanic’s for the $2700 generator.
Mr Sowane said the partnership with the private sector was always vital for NFA. He acknowledged the stakeholders for their foresight and initiative to contribute to the authority’s service delivery.
“We are trying to deliver our service to the best of our ability in terms of saving people’s lives and properties, we cannot do it alone and we will need the assistance of Fijians,” Mr Sowane said.
“This valuable resource will complement the capital developments for the National Fire Authority especially for the Nadi community.”

Al-hamd Smart Living director Ashfaaq Ahmad Khan said he saw the need for the donation after a that destroyed their property in Nadi Town on March 20.
“This gesture allows our company to help out such departments who are the frontliners in any disaster,” he said.
Lautoka Auto Limited Director Arvin Chand said: “This gesture is crucial for our company values to assist in the service delivery rendered by the NFA.”
