Let’s Go Local: Beach,Beats And Eats Weekend At Shangri-La

Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort and Spa’s ‘Beach, Beats and Eats’ festivities this weekend will provide an insight into why Fiji remains a popular tourism destination.
The three-day event, which launches tomorrow.
It will be held every month, and is expected to draw in hundreds of people to the Yanuca island resort, just off Queens Road.
“The idea is to support our local partners in the industry as well as the resort,” Shangri-La’s Group director of sales Marsha Eyre said.
“The idea is to get this event bigger and better and with more entertainment and local features.”
The programme starts from Friday through to Sunday, and will feature different entertainment, food stalls and artisans.
The weekend of entertainment will feature local performance from Vou Group, Inside Out and Sassy.

Children will not be left out as there are a host of programmes, which include dance and drum workshops with the Vou.
The resort’s famous water park is also expected to be a hit among guests.

Ms Eyre said the resort had 50 per cent occupancy.
