Pacific Energy Gives $75K To PM’s Relief Fund

Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama was presented a cheque of $75,932.60 by Pacific Energy, directed towards the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

Mr Bainimarama said the financial support would assist Fiji with rebuilding the lives of those affected by Tropical Cyclone Harold.

The funds are also expected to help efforts in addressing the coronavirus pandemic response efforts.

“The Fijian Government would like to thank you for this kind donation,” he said.

“Our efforts towards the containment of COVID-19 and rehabilitation for those affected by TC Harold are ongoing, and the assistance today will certainly assist us further,” Mr Bainimarama said.

Pacific Energy chief executive officer Randall Vallette said the company aimed to continue with nationwide campaign to raise more funds for the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

As part of the campaign, for every litre of fuel purchased by any customer, two cents is directed towards the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

“We aim to continue with this campaign in the next two or three months,” Mr Vallete said.

“Our target is achieving about $250, 000,” he said.
