Agriculture Ministry To Help Ba Goat Farmer

The Ministry of Agriculture is looking to assist the Ba farmer whose 31 goats died. He discovered them allegedly poisoned and stabbed last Friday.
Since then, four more goats experienced the same fate, said Poasa Sili, of Vatulaulau Village.
The assistance was confirmed after the Assistant Minister for Agriculture Viam Pillay visited Mr Sili on Saturday adding that such acts of brutality were ‘unacceptable’.
Mr Pillay is awaiting Police investigations to determine the ministry’s course of action.
Mr Sili started with 52 goats no more than two months ago.
Mr Pillay said: “My team is on the ground to help assist Mr Sili get back to normal.
“As the Ministry of Agriculture is thriving to help get the economy, we must continue to help assist our farmers.
“It is sad because this farmer relies solely on the farm to help fend for his family.
“He only had just started with goat farming not too long ago and then this happened.
“Mr Sili said he had plans to expand and bring more goats and sheep.
“Because of the incident, I think that is on hold so we will try our best to help him out.”
Mr Sili is a livestock and vegetable farmer.
