Fifty-seven-year-old Aruna Devi couldn’t find words fit to describe the gruesome passing of her younger sister during her funeral at Sonaisali, Nadi on Monday.

People from all walks of life came in numbers to farewell a mother, sister and a businesswoman, Sunita Devi, who died last Wednesday morning.

She was allegedly stabbed multiple times with a cane knife by her 53-year-old de facto partner.

Ms Aruna Devi said her family was still in shock with the tragic incident.

“Everyday my sister would have her bath but today, I bathed her,” she said.

“My sister is no longer today with us and will be missed.”

The late Ms Devi is survived by her 14-year-old daughter, who was also allegedly stabbed and is recovering at the Lautoka Hospital ICU ward.

The matter is before court.
