$307K Boost To Upgrade MGM High’s IT Facility

The Gujarat Education Society was donated a grant of $307,730 to upgrade the Information Technology facilities at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School (MGM) School in Vatuwaqa.

The launch of the IT infrastructure upgrade project and the donation was carried out by the Indian High Commission of Fiji on Wednesday night.

President of the Gujarat Education Society, Kamlesh Kumar, said the IT project was still in progress.

“The new computer labs now have 40 new computers,” he said.

He said this whole project was being carried out by Datec Fiji Limited. Other upgrades include:

  • E-Learning in all 39 classrooms;
  • Each classroom with a computer and multimedia projector; and
  • 60 large CCTV Surveillance System in classrooms, corridors, and entrances.

High Commissioner of India to Fiji, Padmaja, who was the chief guest, said education had always been a priority subject for them and the grant was also dedicated to the great Mahatma. She said the IT facilities of the MGM School would benefit the children of Fiji for years to come.
