TOTAL Fiji $1.2 million refurbished service station has opened in Korovou Town.

This is the company’s 31st fuel station that has opened across Fiji.

The service station upgrade is part of a $10 million investment programme that looks to create new service stations, pipelines and storage facilities.

TOTAL Fiji’s investment programme also includes expanding, upgrading and renovating some of its existing stations.

Managing director Kazi Rahman said setting up a service station in Korovou town was also to ensure TOTAL Fiji continued its service to the community.

“On the medium term, getting back on the track towards economic growth is just as important.

“Private sector investment plays a crucial role in this by generating employment and injecting money supply in the local economy.

“Even if business is tough today, we have a long-term commitment to Fiji,” he said.

Minister for Infrastructure and Meteorological Services and Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Jone Usamate who commissioned the opening of the service station commended the company’s consistency in its customer service during COVID-19.

“I have been informed that TOTAL Fiji have invested approximately $1.2M to upgrade this service station which again became a milestone investment in Fiji’s economy during this tough times.

“This project will also create employment opportunities which could benefit the people of Korovou,” he said.

TOTAL Fiji’s Korovou Service Station renovation includes a refurbished shop, canopy, forecourt and new fuel systems to strengthen TOTAL Fiji.

This renovation project is incorporated with 100 per cent technical compliance as well as renewable energy to its premises to contribute towards the environmental friendly investment.

Mr Usmate said: “I have been informed that this Solarised TOTAL Service Station inaugurated in Tailevu province has 61 square metres of photovoltaic panels which will produce 16.2MWh of power per year and will reduce the retail outlets carbon emission by 10.3 tons per year.

Supreme Fuel Pte Ltd

Supreme Fuel Pte Ltd will be managing the daily operations of the Korovou service station which will employ approximately eight employees.

Managing director Ritesh Patel said Supreme Fuel Pte Ltd had operated the old Tailevu services station for the past 20 years until renovation for the newly look TOTAL Korovou service station started.

“I am extremely proud that TOTAL Fiji has again selected Supreme Fuel Pte Ltd to manage TOTAL Fiji Korovou, adding to other convenience services with fuel, shop items, coffee shop and clean washrooms for our customers,” he said.

Opening hours

TOTAL Fiji Korovou service station will open from Monday to Sunday from 6am to 10pm.
