Superyacht Billionaires Expected

Billionaires with superyachts are expected in the country since the opening of Government’s Blue Lane initiative.

That’s the word from Yacht Help Fiji managing director David Jamieson.

The Ex-superyacht captain is optimistic of the Blue Lane initiative. He is also an agent here.

“There has been a flurry of activity within the global superyacht industry. With many superyacht owners enquiring about how they would be able to fly in and use their superyachts in Fiji.”

He said the unprecedented level of interest from the world’s wealthiest people creates an opportunity for Fiji to further develop its high-end tourism sector both for superyachts and for our Boutique world-famous 7-star resorts.

On Thursday, the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport confirmed receiving the Renegade.  It is the first boat from New Zealand to check into Fiji under their new COVID-19 regulations.

The couple onboard, Robyn and Brian Cooper checked into Musket Cove Island Resort yesterday.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama was optimistic of the Blue Lane potential.

Quarantine Buoy

The quarantine buoy for Denarau Marina is situated one mile off the marina.

It is being monitored via satellite by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Naval Division. They work with the Water Police by conducting routine and adhoc surveillance in the quarantine area.
