Fiji national football captain Roy Krishna officiated at the launching of the Ministry of Waterways and Environment football team.

As part of the wellness programme, the Ministry considers this as a significant investment and will provide incentive to the team which takes part in the Suva business-house football competitions. The Minister for Agriculture, Waterways and Environment Mahendra Reddy acknowledges the initiative led by Permanent Secretary Joshua Wycliffe highlighting the importance of team wellness activity to stay mentally and physically active at work.

Reddy reiterated the importance of a work-life balance and ensures a productive performance producing positive workplace results and more importantly help tackle non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

Reddy said the wellness programme will prevent poor health, boost better work attendance, higher level of productivity, staff retention and higher energy levels to perform in a pressured work environment.

Krishna congratulated the Ministry for taking this step towards the wellness programe.

While sharing his football journey to date, he highlighted the need for discipline and persistence to become successful. He also shared the importance of staying confident and believing in one’s own abilities. He wished the team well for all their upcoming games from the season.
