Let’s Go Local: Jet Over The Sigatoka River

Locals have taken to experiencing one of the greatest attractions the Sigatoka River Safari has to offer.
Well-known sports personalities, rugby referee James Bolabiu and Fiji’s international soccer star Roy Krishna have been part of the throng of locals trying out the River Jet.
Business operations
Managing director Jay Whyte said his company, Sigatoka River Safari “went into hibernation on March 19, 2020”.
“We opened Saturday, June 13 and this was part of the Love Our Locals campaign as we believed we could provide a fun, exciting experience for the local tourism market.
“The response has been fantastic, with hundreds of locals taking up the opportunity to experience the world famous Sigatoka spin and also take advantage of the special of two for the price of one.”

River Jets experience
The River Jets experience is a 30 minute thrill ride in the lower Sigatoka River.
“We depart from Sigatoka Town near the old Sigatoka Bridge and head upriver, showcasing the incredible manoeuvrability of the River Jets boat, before we head back downriver to the Sigatoka River mouth.
“We have short commentary stop here that allows our guests the chance to see the picturesque Sigatoka Sand dunes, the only onshore beach break in all of Fiji at the river mouth and of course listen to some interesting facts of the river system and the history of the area.”
Route
Mr Whyte said the journey begins back up river with many 360 spins and power turns to ensure all our guests were “smiling from ear to ear and of course are wet from front to rear.
“We invite everyone who is looking for something exhilarating and unforgettable to book now and make the most of this incredible opportunity to join us on the Sigatoka River every Saturday.
“The special will continue to the end of August due to the huge demand.
“We suggest those of you wishing to join us to book early to secure your seats.
“We suggest our guests bring with them a towel, changes of clothes, sense of adventure and their smile,” Mr Whyte said.
