Let’s Go Local: Local Support Keeps Leleuvia Resort Alive

Local support has kept Leleuvia Island Resort open after the coronavirus pandemic prompted the close of many tourism properties.
Local support is the reason the resort has maintained its 25 employees.
Leleuvia Island Resort is located in the Lomaiviti group near Moturiki, and has always been local-friendly.
It is 35 minutes by fast boat from Viti Levu.
Resort manager Colin Philp said pre -COVID-19, the resort had an average 60 per cent international guests and 40 per cent locals in-house.
“July and August are our busiest months in terms of international travellers,” he said.
50 per cent off
“We have introduced 50 per cent off our accommodation rates.
“This discount is on our private beach bures. For the dormitory, we are offering an all-inclusive rate of $180 per person for one night’s stay, and $295 for two nights stay.”
Package rates cover boat transfers, accommodation and all meals.

Activities
The resort offers a range of guest activities based on the sea, including paddling, kayaking, snorkelling, drua sailing, canoe paddling and coral planting.
“We have a gym, table tennis, a pool table and volleyball,” Mr Philp said.
“We also have some of the best snorkelling in Fiji right off the beach, which is great for first timers,” Mr Philp said.
The resort has 20 private bures, six of which have their own en-suite shower and bathroom.
There are male and female dormitories, each with 20 beds.
Rates
“Our meal plans start at $85 a day and includes all day coffee and tea plus afternoon tea.”
Afternoon teas is offered.
Discounts off meal packages is on offer for groups, he said.
Standard Bure – $97.50 a night for two adults.
Standard Bure – $125 a night for two adults and two children under 12.
Accommodation rates are available until the end of August and applies for bookings through to December 2020.
