Three people are admitted at the Nabouwalu sub-divisional hospital following a collision between a bus and a truck in Bua on Thursday afternoon.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro, said the victims were two bus passengers and the truck driver.

“We are continuing with the investigation and cannot reveal now the cause of the accident,” Ms Naisoro said.

Bus company Parmod Enterprises Limited director, Edwin Chand, said he was aware of the accident.

“My bus driver had informed me that 10 people were taken to the hospital for checking,” Mr Chand said.

“What I was informed of is that the truck driver tried overtaking the bus.

He hit the front driver’s side forcing the bus to veer off the road and fall into the drain, while the truck fell in the other side of the drain.”

Mr Chand said the accident happened around 1:45 pm when the bus was on its way from Nabouwalu to Labasa.
