The Nadi Football Association received a major boost in their Punjas Battle of the Giants campaign.

The Avinesh Warran Suwany captained- side received $5000 from their sponsors Professional Valuations Limited (PVL) during the team’s jersey presentation at Korovuto College on Wednesday night.

PVL owner and Member of Parliament Sanjay Kirpal said the team had brought many glories to the people of Nadi.

“I believe in these boys,” he said.

Kirpal told the players that the B.O.G is theirs if they are passionate about the sport and play from their hearts.

He urged them to focus on their game.

“If you decide today that you will never accept second place to anyone than there is no one we cannot defeat,” Kirpal added.

“If you believe in yourself, believe in your coach, believe in your officials and believe in the team then no one can stop you from lifting the B.O.G trophy.”

Kirpal reminded the players to display good sportsmanship and never lose their anger.

“Respect the referees and all the match officials. Accept whatever decision they make.”

NFA president Ashwan Singh thanked PVL and other co-sponsors like Thirsty Liquor, All in One Builders (New Zealand), Best Fish & Chips, Max Chetty, Shopfittings, Authentic Deco, Classic Consultants, Nadi Handicrafts, Wild West

Amitesh Singh (USA), Reliance Pharmacy and 96Bula Sevens Restaurant.

“We are indebted to these sponsors and the onus is on the players to perform,” he said.

Fiji Football Association president Rajesh Patel said there had been some positive vibes leading up to the tournament.

Nadi take on Navua at 12pm today.
