Vodafone Fijian Football head coach, Flemming Serritslev was happy. This was after he watched an improved pace of the game played during the first week of the Punjas Battle of the Giants tournament.

He had been closely monitoring and analysing national squad members during the pool games.

However, Serritslev believes that players should do better in the future.

The no-nonsense mentor has been conducting coaching seminars with the district coaches and addressing the need to raise the pace and speed of football in Fiji.

“I have been watching the pool games, there are really some good matches. “Some players are really playing fast football which is something every player should be able to do,” he said.

“I have been analysing some player’s performance, they are doing good so far.”

Flemming has planned to have his first national training camp since the coronavirus pandemic, on August 24 before teams prepare for the second round of the Vodafone Premier League (VPL).

“There are some young players in these teams, I know they would be fit for the national squad, Serritslev added.

“I am looking into having a national camp at the end of the month and get some young players in the squad.”
