Police are investigating an alleged hit-and-run accident involving a Fiji Corrections Service truck, transporting inmates to court, and an other vehicle yesterday.

Police Spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the report and said investigations were underway.

Vehicle owner, Subhag Mati, 57, said she was travelling to Nabua and was in traffic in Lami when the accident allegedly happened.

She claimed that the truck failed to stop after the accident.

Questions sent to the media officer at the Fiji Corrections Service remained unanswered when this edition went.
