Healthy Alternatives For Early Walkers

Suva’s grand lady, Grand Pacific Hotel bakery now has more healthy pastry and have extended their opening hours.
GPH general manager, Lachlan Walker, said the idea came about when they noticed many people doing their earlier morning exercises along the Suva Victoria Parade and revamped Albert Park.
“We want to introduce healthy alternatives to our bakery, turmeric and lemon loaf, fresh juices, bread and cakes that are gluten-free, cakes with more fruits and alternate ingredients rather than using refined sugars and flours,” Mr Walker said.
“We can see that a lot of people exercising at the park, doing their walks just across the hotel and with the bakery closed we thought it was a great idea to open it up early morning so that people could grab their coffee after they have finished exercising,” he said.

The bakery is now open from 6.30am to 8 pm, the previous opening hour was 10 am.
Mr Walker also added that with the recent opening hours changes, they have received good feedback from their daily customers as they continue to introduce healthy juices and pastries.
