Church Silent On Unexplained Behaviour Caught On Video

No explanation can be offered at this time by the Methodist Church in Fiji regarding the strange behaviour of three women captured in a video uploaded to Facebook.
The video recorded on Sunday shows three women behaving strangely inside the Centenary Church in Suva after prayers were said to them.
The three fell to the floor and started wriggling around. Two started wriggling towards the exit door.
Many believe the women were possessed by evil spirits.
Deputy General Secretary for the Methodist Church in Fiji Revered Iliesa Naivalu said he has not seen the episode at the Centenary Church.
“But I have witnessed bits of video shots of Rev Iliesa Koroi’s healing at work in most of his ministry’s crusades the past two years, where hundreds of people have been healed,” he said.
“As of the actions of the two women, I’m sorry I cannot give an explanation nor do I have the privilege to speak for the Church on such matters.”
President of the Church Rev Epineri Vakadewavosa will meet Rev Koroi next week.
“After I conveyed the President’s message to Rev Koroi, he in return claimed that he only prayed for the sick people who were brought to him, but has no control whatsoever to what happens after that, when the sick fell on the ground and made movements that may seem strange to onlookers,” Rev Naivalu said.
“Rev Koroi cannot explain either, he believes that there is power that falls from him whenever he gives his command to those possessed by the evil spirits. All he knows is that he casts out evil spirits in the power of Jesus’ Name.”
Rev Naivalu said while the Church gave the ministers the freedom to exercise his or her spiritual gifts, the Church continued to emphasise that each gift must be guided by both the Scriptures and the teachings and practices of the Methodist Church in accordance with the Wesleyan theology.
