Two COVID-19 Patients Recovered

The Minister for Health and Medical Services Dr Ifereimi Waqainabete confirmed yesterday that two COVID-19 patients have recovered. Tests were conducted on them.

He said the two were released from isolation early this week.

“They tested negative on the week that just passed so they followed the guidelines for recovery,” Dr Waqainabete said.

Dr Waqanabete said he would need to clarify the total number of active cases.

“I have to check, I think it is four or five, but anyway two have recovered and they would have gone home according to the process they take,” he said.

To date, there have been no cases of community transmission in Fiji. There has only been one COVID-19 border quarantine death, the 66-year-old man, who returned on a repatriation flight from India on July 1.
