92 More Fijians Come Home

92 Fijians were repatriated onboard a chartered Garuda Indonesia flight yesterday. They are in Government-funded quarantine facilities, confirmed Ministry of Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary Yogesh Karan.
The flight began in Delhi, India, via Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea before touching down at the Nadi International Airport.
The Embassy of Fiji based at Jakarta in a statement thanked the government of Indonesia, the directorate for Asia, Pacific and African Affairs in honouring its request.
Fifteen flew from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Tel Aviv, Kuwait, and Bangladesh.
The statement also said that Fijian nationals were transited through Soekamo-Hatta International airport.
“All those transited had to carry with them a PCR (Polymerase chain reaction) test result valid for seven days. None of the Fijian nationals entered into the Indonesian border,” the statement said.
Additionally, 162 passengers transited on the same flight through Nadi to board an Air New Zealand flight for Auckland yesterday.
