Club Toyota Fiji, in collaboration with Freedom Riders, will host a Fiji Day Charity Motor Show.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, Freedom Rider general secretary, Divendra Prasad, said the initiative was to support families affected by the coronavirus crisis.

On October 10, the club members will gather at Nasese to receive donations which they will distribute to 200 families.

A procession of motorists will depart Nausori on Thursday morning for Nasese.

The collection of donations at Nasese will be held from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, October 10.

Business house support

The motorcyclist club has invited businesses to support the cause.

Mr Prasaid said they were targeting more than 100 participants, as registration starts next Monday.

Each participant pays $10 registration, which goes straight to the charity kit, he said.

“This year, we want to present a platform for vehicle lovers to share their passion for bikes and cars, and at the same time contribute to on-going efforts to collect donations for food packs for families affected,” Mr Prasad said.

Fiji With A Difference

“We need to bring the road user community together on special occasions and build awareness.”

Mr Prasad said Club Toyota Fiji and Freedom Riders shared a chronicle of charity work, with this year’s theme being Fiji with a Difference.

Club Toyota Fiji president, Sandip Singh, said they were looking to partner strategically with key personnel, organisations and companies who shared the same passion for a successful charity event.

Freedom Riders has a total of 6975 members while Club Toyota Fiji has 41 members.
