New find Nadi halfback Anasa Gary is expected to be on the run on side against Tailevu during round seven of the Skipper Cup Premiership clash at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori on Saturday.

The 20-year-old made his debut in a 29-12 victory over Namosi at Prince Charles Park, Nadi last Friday.

“I thank the team management for having faith in me,” he said.

“I did not lose hope in the early rounds as I waited for my turn and my time has come. I guess I won their hearts that is why I made my debut. There is a long way to go in the season.

Trusting System

“We have to trust our system and play our game.”

The Navakasobu, Seaqaqa, Macuata native has maternal links to Navoci, Nadi.

He attended Queen Victoria School before ending up at Ratu Navula College.

He plays for the Western Marine (Narewa) Rugby Club and was part of the Ponijese Lutuciri’s-coached Nadi Under-20 side that won the Skipper Cup competition in 2018.

According to Gary he wants to emulate the legendary Joe Levula and former national 7s and Nadi winger Asiveni Lutumailagi
