Marist 7s Pools Officially Released

Speaking to SUNsports Marist Rugby president Lawrence Tikaram said the tournament will be an exciting one. “It’s going to be fast pace, hard and strong rugby action and we understand that these players will be hungry to play,” he said.

A total of 17 pools of four teams have been announced for the 44th Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament set for September 24-26 at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

The announcement was made at the Paradise Beverages headquarters in Walu Bay, Suva yesterday.

The new men’s winner will walk away with $15,000 while the runners-up get $5,000. For the women’s the winning team pocket $4000 while the runners-up take home $1500. In the Under-18/U20 competition, the winners will be $3000 richer while the runners-up get $1000.

The admission on Day 1 will be $5 flat, Day 2- $7 flat and Day 3 is $20 grandstand and $7 embankment.

Speaking to SUNsports Marist Rugby president Lawrence Tikaram said the tournament will be an exciting one.

“It’s going to be fast pace, hard and strong rugby action and we understand that these players will be hungry to play,” he said.

“We thank our sponsors for making this happen and supporting grassroot rugby.”

Tikaram said at the same time they are adapting to the new norm as everyone has been urged to follow all COVID-19 pandemic regulations.

“We are looking at 6000 crowd capacity with Bidesi and Buckhurst Park to have another 4000. We urge every fan to download your Fiji Care App so that screening runs smoothly.”

Pool 2- Ratu Filise, Yalovata Young Boys- Levuka, Blue Diamond 2, Raiwasa Resort Taveuni.

Pool 3- Newborn Waibasaga, Dominion Brothers,Dritabua Cavaliers, Waimaro Young Boys

Pool 4- Army Red, Samurai Navatulevu Sharks, Seniboro Green, Brimstone Rakacikaci Rugby
