Dentistry has been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, says Ministry of Health and Medical Services Acting Permanent Secretary Dr James Fong.

During the Fiji Oral Health Workers Association annual conference in Suva on Saturday, Dr Fong said a pay issue was being faced due to the uncertainty in the dentistry sectors in Fiji.

“In the COVID era, I am happy to see the oral health practitioners are working together and I understand that it is difficult to fill in the gaps during this condition,” he said.

He urged oral health workers to play their role during the level of uncertainty faced in Fiji.
