More SODELPA Drama

Barely into the third month after she was appointed SODELPA general secretary, Emele Duituturaga is faced with accusations that allegedly undermine her position in the party.
To this, Ms Duituturaga is reminding those behind this that she has an employment contract with the party.
It comes after an email, allegedly authored by Bani Dunn, questioned her ethics and competency in the role after she took the reins from ousted predecessor, Adi Litia Qionibaravi.
Mr Dunn, a vocal member of the party, used to sit on the panel of interview for the general secretary position.

SODELPA Member Bani Dunn.
At one stage, he was close to caretaker party leader Sitiveni Rabuka, and openly supported the Holiday Inn Suva faction, in the battle of moderate versus conservative.

SODELPA leader Sitiveni Rabuka.
The Kshatriya Hall faction were seen as the conservative.
Now it seems that he has joined the latter.
Yesterday Ms Duituturaga confirmed receiving the email.
However, she said there were some questions as to whether Mr Dunn authored the email adding ‘the information is based on misinformation and false allegations’.
“I have referred the matter to the Party president as I do have a contract through which performance matters should be addressed,” she said.
In the email a barrage of accusations were levelled against Ms Duituturaga.
Comment from Mr Dunn was not available when this edition went to press. It is understood that he does not have a mobile phone and other efforts to contact him were unsuccessful.
Excerpts from the email read:
“Its (sic) very disappointing to see you not take a stand on the nepotism and lack of productivity now happening in the office.
“Your office is now full of volunteers that are questionable… The appointment of Peter Wise and DiVuki by the HR Committee led by Ro Filipe was supposed to have them work for both offices at Opposition and HQ.
“Note that the very accusations leveled against former GS Adi Litia you are now doing, and its best that Adi Litia is brought back. She ran a tight ship.
“You have now reduced the salary of the Deputy GS and yet he is now also doing the work of Finance and Budgeting.
“How can you allow nepotism through the appointment of committees when Ro Teimumu sits there and Ro Filipe Tuisawau is appointed to HR Committee???
You had been told to improve from the level of the last office bearers. We have now received information that you spend at least just 2 hrs in office and you keep asking advice from Adi Litia 3 to 4 times a day so its (sic) better we bring her back as GS since there are no truth in all accusations against her…”
