Subrail Park Gets $200k Facelift

Labasa Town Council has set aside $200,000 for remedial work for Subrail Park.

Town special administrator Ami Kohli while confirming the sum yesterday, said remedial work had started two weeks ago.

“The renovation and maintenance work of the river end, Gibson pavilion and town end are in progress,” Mr Kohli said.

“The Council is paying for this renovation project.”

He said the work was expected to be completed by the end of this month.

“We are planning to have the park ready soon to be able to host upcoming events like the Vodafone Fiji FACT and Fiji Day celebration next month,” he said.

“We have been receiving requests from many organisers wanting to use the park with the pavilion for sports events.”

According to Mr Kohli the Subrail Park with remedial work in progress on one end of the park, ground two is in good condition that rugby union competitions have been held there on Saturdays.
