A GROUP of resilient Fijian artistes are embracing the ‘new normal’ brought about by the global COVID-19 pandemic to continue doing what they love – music.

Household names in the local music industry – Vude Prince Savuto Vakadewavosa, powerhouse Akanisi Vakaloloma and Isireli Mainavukea (TUA) are taking to the stage for a live concert – this time virtually.

“The global music industry has been hit hard alike by this pandemic with live performance revenue the biggest casualty,” Savuto said.

“The social gathering and travel restrictions has challenged us as entertainers with unprecedented cancellation of gigs and events. This has forced us to be more creative to continue doing music and at the same time stay connected with our fans and music lovers.”

The trio have organized a paid two-hour virtual concert via Facebook, featuring chart-topping originals from the artistes themselves including English and Fijian classics.

“This is fairly a new concept for us as live entertainers to continue sharing our music with everyone, especially during these trying times,” adds songstress Aggie.

“We have been rehearsing with our band for over a month now and we are so excited to perform for our fans online via Facebook from all Fijians here and around the world.”

The concert will be livestreamed from the Peninsula International Hotel Suva.

e-Entry to the virtual concert costs FJD$20 with payment methods accepted via MPaisa (World Remit) (+6798073872), Digicel Pay (+6797642366) & via PayPal (fblivefiji@gmail.com).

“We urge all of our fans and music lovers to purchase your eEntry and not miss out on this concert. We’ll be performing classic Fijian and English favorites as well as latest hits for everyone to enjoy,” says TUA.

“We are ready, are you ready?”
