Pacific Transport Limited has added another four new fully air-conditioned elegance coaches to its fleet. These buses were ordered in China last December, and arrived into the country last month. The company now has a total of 29 buses.

Pacific Transport Limited has added another four new fully air-conditioned elegance coaches to its fleet.

These buses were ordered in China last December, and arrived into the country last month.

The company now has a total of 29 buses.

Company general manager, Nitesh Chand said, the investment into four new coaches had cost the company around $1.2 million.

Mr Chand said the demand was there, and traveling public preferred to travel in good buses.

These four coaches, he said would service the Suva, Lautoka, Suva express route on Queens Road.

“We thank the Government for duty reduction, which enabled us to bring safe, modern and state of art coaches in Fiji,” Mr Chand said.

“We hope this duty reduction continues, thus we can bring in more coaches in future, for patrons travelling on express coaches.”

Mr Chand said these batch of four new coaches were Euro 4 compliant, and powered by rear mounted inter cooled turbo charged UK Cummins engines, which generate maximum power with lower fuel consumption.

Euro 4 is a globally accepted European emission standards for vehicles that require the use of fuel with significantly low sulfur and benzene.

The four buses would start operations from this week, he said.

Pacific Transport Limited is the largest fleet of fully air-conditioned luxurious coaches operating on express trips on Queens Road.

Each coach is equipped with modern interior layout providing super comfortable faux leather seating in a two plus two seating configuration with ample leg room for long journeys;

  • A temperature and fresh air control roof mounted air-conditioning system, Individual passenger air-condition adjustment,
  • Large dark tinted windows with blue curtains to provide comfort in our warm climate and wider surrounding views,
  • Big luggage space, and handy overhead luggage compartment
  • Multi-disc DVD front 19 color screen,
  • Heavy suspension system for smooth ride

These buses are engineered for maximum level of safety in all respect, Mr Chand said.

 

Safety:

  • WABCO, combined ABS, and retarder brake system ,
  • Engine compartment has automatic fire extinguisher system,
  • Emergency exit with five locations,
  • Reverse colour monitor screen assists drivers in reversing,
  • Engine temperature control, and sensors,
  • Many other sensors provide drivers with control and information,
  • Electronic Computer Module (ECM) records data on engine performance, fuel consumption, lubricant level, vehicle speed and bus idling,
  • Driver monitoring system records data on driver’s performance, such as maximum speed, gear application, and driving skills,
  • Surveillance cameras records video 24/7 both inside and outside vehicle for maximum safety, best service, and incident analysis.
