Police Officers In Danger If Not Careful: Tudravu

Police officers, if not careful, are in danger of crashing and burning, said Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu.
He said the pressure brought about by COVID-19 and the need to continue with normal operations had made work stressful. He made the comments at the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement between the Fiji Police Force and Medical Services Pacific (MSP).
This partnership started in 2012, was signed again in 2016 and now in 2020. Under this agreement, Medical Services Pacific provides services to victims of sexual offences and gender-based violence in the first hour procedure.
As part of the agreement, MSP would also provide counseling services to Police officers.
Mr Tudravu highlighted that there was a need for counselling within the force.
“I have already stated that we would like to improve on our service delivery. We are all human beings and human beings have limitations. Looking at the way we are operating, the tempo of the operations and the fact that manpower and human resources stay the same, someday someone will explode.”
