Nothing fancy , but simple rugby from the Namosi rugby side as they beat challenger Nadroga 15-6 to retain the Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori, yesterday.
“It’s simple hard, clean rugby for 80 minutes,” said Namosi team manager Emori Bolakoso.
Leading 8-6 with time up, Nadroga opted to play the ball when they had a penalty.
Their forward drive towards the Namosi tryline was turned over and Namosi centre Onisi Ratabe broke through the defence.
He was caught metres away from the tryline and Peni Matawalu set-up Alivereti Veitokani to slip a pass to Meli Nakarawa to score their second try to the dismay of the big Nadroga crowd.
